Who Should Take This Course?

This course is designed for healthcare providers who need ACLS for their clinical duties. This group of professionals includes physicians, nurses, paramedics, respiratory therapists, pharmacists and others as required by their employer.

What Does This Course Teach?

HeartCode® ACLS is a self-directed, comprehensive eLearning program that uses eSimulation technology to allow students to assess and treat patients in virtual healthcare settings. There are a variety of additional videos as well as the ACLS Provider Manual and the 2015 Handbook of Emergency Cardiovascular Care to enhance learning and facilitate successful completion of the patient cases.

This class is for students who have completed the ACLS Heartcode Online Course.

This 2 day 16 hour advanced course highlights the importance of high-performance team dynamics and communication, systems of care, recognition and intervention of cardiopulmonary arrest, immediate post-cardiac arrest, acute dysrhythmia, stroke, and acute coronary syndromes (ACS).

Heartsaver® Bloodborne Pathogens Online

This self-directed eLearning course teaches employees how to protect themselves and others from being exposed to blood or blood-containing materials. This course is designed to meet OSHA requirements for bloodborne pathogens training when paired with site-specific instruction.

Heartsaver Bloodborne Pathogens Online was designed specifically for workers with a reasonable chance of coming into contact with bloodborne pathogens.

 

Employees are still required to complete an in-person class session pertaining to their employers Infectious Control Plan.

The BLS Healthcare Provider Course teaches CPR skills for helping victims of all ages (including doing ventilation with a barrier device, a bag-mask device, and oxygen); use of an automated external defibrillator (AED); and relief of foreign-body airway obstruction (FBAO). It’s intended for participants who provide health care to patients in a wide variety of settings including in-hospital and out-of-hospital.

 

This Online combined class merges First aid with CPR/AED to offer a full well rounded resucer that is prepared for anything.

The Heartsaver® First Aid Course provides the skills to effectively assess and maintain life from the critical minutes immediately following an emergency until the arrival of emergency medical services personnel. Course content includes General Principles, Medical Emergencies and Injury Emergencies. Optional topics include CPR and AED, and Environmental Emergencies. 

Persons assigned to respond to emergencies in the workplace or community as well as those who want to learn first aid, CPR and AED skills.  Some rescuers are required to take this course as part of their employer’s efforts to comply with OSHA regulations, e.g., corporate employees, security guards, airline personnel and lifeguards. 

The Heartsaver® CPR Course is a modular course that teaches lay rescuers how to recognize life-threatening emergencies, including cardiac arrest and choking for adult, child and infant victims. Students also learn to recognize the warning signs of a heart attack and stroke in adults and breathing difficulties in children. 

All lay rescuers, such as employees in the workplace, day care employees, babysitters, airline  personnel, security guards, family members of patients at high risk for sudden cardiac death, other lay rescuers, and those who may have a need to respond to an emergency.

COURSE LENGTH: 4 hrs online plus 1hr skills session

COURSE LENGTH: 3.5 hours 

AHA Pediatric Advance Life Support is for healthcare providers who provide advanced level care to pediatric patients. Topics include management of cardiac conditions, respiratory emergencies, shock, Airway, intraosseous access & medication administration 

ACLS and PALS Recertification classes include a Pre-course Self-Assessment that is required to be completed BEFORE attending the course. Students are required to provide the course Instructor with a copy of the self-assessment result at the beginning of the class.

 Proof of completion of the Pre-course Self-Assessment is a requirement to successfully complete the course.

Heartsaver Pediatric First Aid CPR AED Online is the eLearning portion of the Heartsaver Pediatric First Aid CPR AED Blended Learning Course. It teaches students information needed to respond to and manage illnesses and injuries in a child or infant in the first few minutes until professional help arrives.

After completing the online portion, students must complete hands-on skills session with an AHA BLS or Heartsaver Instructor.

Upon successful completion of both portions of the course, students receive a Heartsaver Pediatric First Aid CPR AED course completion card, valid for two years.

The EMT class provides the initial training to apply for certification with the State of Connecticut Department of Public Health. The EMT is responsible for initial assessment, stabilization, and transportation of an injured or medically ill person. EMT’s perform duties, such as, CPR, patient stabilization, airway clearance, hemorrhage control, initial wound care, fracture stabilization, and emergency childbirth. They must exercise good judgment and leadership under stress and must deal with people of all ages experiencing injuries and death. NREMT practical testing included.

This class also provides clinical ride time on an ambulance 2 shifts a month. This gets you out of the classroom and into an ambulance to learn hands on with a preceptor.

Hunter’s Ambulance sponsors an accelerated EMT training course taught by experienced EMS Instructors to become an Emergency Medical Technician.  This program is designed to prepare individuals to take the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians (NREMT) certification examination. This is the test used by the State of Connecticut to certify EMTs.

 

Coursework emphasizes emergency skills, such as managing respiratory, trauma, and cardiac emergencies, and patient assessment. Coursework also includes clinical time which gets you out of the classroom and into an ambulance working hands-on with an EMT. This valuable time working with an EMT and responding to calls on our busy ambulances provide you with experience you can't get elsewhere!  The program provides instruction and practice in dealing with bleeding, fractures, airway obstruction, cardiac arrest, and emergency childbirth. Students learn how to use and maintain common emergency equipment, such as backboards, suction devices, splints, oxygen delivery systems, and stretchers.

 

This accelerated course is held on Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 8:30 am to 5 pm.

This is a 20 hour State of Connecticut approved NCCP recertification course. This also satisfies the 20hr NREMT requirement. This DOES include an AHA CPR recertification.

You MUST also accru an additional 20 hours of CME's to complete your recertification.  

You MUST also submit a State of Connecticut OEMS recertification application via their website. You will receive an email link prior to your expiration.

The EMT Refresher Online is a hybrid class consisting of one day of classroom for review and skills requirments with  the majority of the work being online. This allows for students to complete much of the coursework outside of the classroom to allow for a more convenient education experience.

This will satisfy 20 hours towrd the requirements for Connecticut recertification and NREMT recertification.

This also includes AHA Heartcode CPR.

Within 2 bussiness days of registering you will receive an email with access to the online training platform. You will immedialy be issued the AHA BLS course.

This is for students who have completed the PALS heartcode online course. Certificate must be presented at the start of class.

MidState required BLS Skills Stations include Airway, CPR, Splinting, Medication administration & Medical & Trauma scenarios as well as Triage.

This is State approved for 2 Hrs.
